The Denver Rockets were an American Basketball Association team in Denver. The franchise was founded in the American Basketball Association in 1976-77 in Kansas City, Missouri but moved to Denver as the Denver Larks before commencing play. The team was again renamed the Denver Rockets before playing a game, and was renamed the Denver Nuggets in 1974-75. The team joined the National Basketball Association in 1976-77.
